Describe-> Why piece looks soft and realistic, the tongue of the cow looks smooth and wet. The subject matter is realism and texture. The title is "Soft Friend" I become friends with most animals I meet or at least I try to. The most obvious principles are Value, and texture.

Create-> The media in my art is pencil and some gel pen. I used a very up close reference picture to study and get the textures accurate. I shadows before adding texture and then with the fur I followed the direction of the animals body, the head is curved so followed to structure of it's head. I also overlapped the strokes that were fur over each other after I got some layed down. For the blurry out of focus parts I didn't put as much work into detail and smudged the pencil with my finger to add blur.

Big Idea-> Some cottage core aesthetic photos of cute cows and my love for animals inspired this piece. This is personal, it my personal love for animals and how I like cottage aesthetic. I tried to show adoration and affection in this piece, I feel like the first thought is "awe".

Goals->  I had a goal that I wanted the piece to look as if you reach out and touched it you could feel the fur, I feel like I did a good enough job, but there is always room for improvement.

Thought-> I learned to start with the fur further towards the outside and work inwards so that it overlaps like n reality. The final piece is mostly what I imaged, I felt like it could have been a bit better but it's still pretty good. Because I expected a but more realism. It will influence more artwork by inspiring me to draw more animals.
